:: The countryside enjoys a mediterannean climate with long periods of sunshine and the vineyards are found among fiels of lavender forests of live oak and juniper and stetches of wild thyme perfumed garrigue.
:: The cultivated area of the orgnac co-operative spans three distinct geological regions : The Orgnac - Le Garn sedimentary basin dating from the eocene epoch (35 to 55 M. years), The lime ston plateau east of La Bastide de Virac, daing from the urgonien epoch (120 M years), and the eocene border of the Alès sedimentary basin towards Vagnas

:: The vineyards cover some 1730 acres comprising 494 acres syrah, 481 acres grenache, 86.5 acres white grenache, 64 acres merlot together with cinsault, clairette and marsanne in this fortunate region all the grape varieties are able to develop fully the qualities which produce the well blanced red, white and rosé wines of the Côtes du Vivarais.
:: In September 1999, the "Côtes du Vivarais" was granted the appelation of certified origin (A.O.C.). Mindful of the need to maintain the highest standards our winegrowers have adoptedd a policy of continuous improvements in both viticulture and winemaking
